This month, Uppercase treated its subscribers to the recently released Ignite the Stars by Maura Milan along with a couple matching accessories that went along well with the theme of this month’s release.

The synopsis of the book alone had me wanting to dive right into this science fiction young adult novel complete with a strong female lead, a slow-burning romance, and all the adventure you’d expect from a space adventure.

Everyone in the universe knows his name. Everyone in the universe fears him. But no one realizes that notorious outlaw Ia Cocha is a seventeen-year-old girl.

Soon, Ia is trapped at the Commonwealth’s military academy, desperately plotting her escape. But new acquaintances—including Brinn, a seemingly average student with a closely-held secret, and their charming Flight Master, Knives—cause Ia to question her own alliances. Can she find a way to escape the Commonwealth’s clutches before these bonds deepen?

Described as a perfect read for fans of the Lunar Chronicles, this title will have you guessing all the way wondering if our lead heroine will escape her captors or if her loyalty will change and she will accept those that she’s hated her entire life. Only the next page will tell.

The book is joined by a feather enamel pin, a bookmark that lists the interactive content, and a beautiful literary-themed infinity scarf. Each of the items goes along with the reading theme and makes the subscription well worth the $23.99 a month (plus shipping). If you’re only interested in the signed book, you can get away with a book only subscription for $13.99 (plus shipping) subscription.

Stay tuned for our last unboxing next month and we will see what Uppercase has in store for its readers in October. It should be interesting with it being the Halloween season. Until then, keep reading!
