Mother’s Day is May 13th and that means it’s time to start hinting to our families what to get us for that special day…I mean…it’s time for us to start recommending to our readers some items so fabulously geeky that mom will forget all those times you “forgot” to help with the dishes.

Pilot MR Retro Pop Fountain Pen

Price: $15.00
I love writing by hand. Nothing is more satisfying than the smooth flow of ink to paper and the soft scribbling sound that the Pilot MR Retro Pop Fountain Pen creates. It’s an economical and thoughtful choice for the mom with amazing penmanship. – Submitted by GeekMom Kali Moulton
FanSets Pins

Price: 5.95 each
FanSet Pins are adorable and can be used to create a wearable ‘family’ like the ubiquitous car decals. Pictured is Star Trek Discovery’s Katrina Cornwell representing me and Harry Potter’s Ginny Weasley representing my daughter. They have a few different geeky fandoms to choose from and the pins are quality and service is quick. – Submitted by GeekMom Anika Dane

OVVO Optics Sunglasses

Price: Varies
The lightest pair of sunglasses I own are the 2272 style from OVVO Optics. They are tough enough for my son to handle and they’re so light I’ve forgotten I was wearing them a few times. They are a bit pricey but if you need a reliable pair of shades, these are my go-to brand. Check out OVVO Optics website for the dealer closest to you.

The May box was birthday themed and contained a few pages of stickers perfectly suited for the bullet journaler, color yourself cupcake washi tape, a rose gold Faber-Castell marker, and two gel pens along with a recipe for Red Velvet Cupcakes. If your mom is into journaling, this is a nice starter accessory box for her.

Solo: A Star Wars Story Skirt for Women by Star Wars Boutique

Price: $78.00
The popularity of “Dapper Days” at Disney parks worldwide has inspired some dress and skirt additions to the long line t-shirts and casual pieces on the Disney Store site. Recently, they added a tea-length skirt inspired by Solo: A Star Wars Story that would look great with solid tee (or even a Star Wars logo one). It’s always nice to have at least one dressy piece for a day out with your fellow scoundrels. – Submitted by GeekMom Kali Moulton

Switchmate Snap-On Smart Light Switch and Instant Smart Power Outlet

Price: $89.99
Give mom the gift of saving money with the Switchmate Snap-On Smart Light Switch and Instant Smart Power Outlet kit. I love mine and thought it was really cool how all I had to do was snap it over the existing light switch or outlet. I change the location of our smart light switch as I see the need (for example, instead of controlling my room one night, I’ll program it to turn the porch light on before my husband comes home from work). The kit comes with either a rocker or toggle switch so make sure you grab the right kit when purchasing.
Doxie Q Wireless Scanner

Price: $267.00
I’ve reviewed a couple of the Doxie products before and they are always worth checking out. The Doxie Q stands alone because it doesn’t need a computer to work. With the included SD card you can scan everything while in the car lane at school, the playground, or just sitting in your favorite chair. When you’re ready to move the scans to your computer, just pop the SD card out and import the scans. You can rename, combine, and convert them all from the Doxie app.
Viotek FastPad Wireless Charger

Price: $29.99
How about the gift of a fully charged phone? I compared the Viotek FastPad Wireless Charger to my Anker wireless charging pad and I have to say I’m surprised. Both chargers were comparable at a 5% increase every 10 minutes. The Viotek is much slimmer than the Anker charger which makes it the winner in my book. Make sure mom’s phone is compatible before purchasing.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales on Blu-ray/Digital

Price: 19.99
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales on Digital HD and 4K Ultra HD is a treat for Moms and the rest of the family alike! Cars 3 on Digital/Blu-ray

Price: $19.99
I’m the kind of Mom who enjoys a Mother’s Day gift the whole family can enjoy. Cars 3 is a feel-good movie on many levels: for the kids who will still enjoy Lightning’s timeless adventures, for the parents who will watch the mentorship between the wise experts and the naive novices, and for sports fans who will nod in understanding about how technology is always “changing the game.” – Submitted by GeekMom Patricia Vollmer
Star Wars: The Last Jedi on Blu-ray/Digital

Price: $29.99
Duh! It just came out at the end of March! Of course, Mom’s going to want her very own copy of Star Wars: The Last Jedi! If you’ve seen the movie already, then you’ll definitely want to take advantage of the bonus features. My favorite? ‘The Director and the Jedi’, a full-length documentary about the making of the film. It’s touching and exciting all at once. Don’t miss it! -Submitted by GeekMom Patricia Vollmer
