Kickstarter: Hone Means No More Searching For Keys

There’s nothing quite as frustrating as getting ready to leave the house in the morning and not being able to find your keys. This is usually more likely to happen on a day when you’re already running late or you overslept and can’t see straight, or your kids are missing a shoe or a glove or their school bags. It’s one of those moments of parenting hell that we’ve all endured. Lucky for all of us, the days of searching the house for our keys are soon to disappear thanks to the folks behind Hone.

Hone is a little Bluetooth device that you attach to your keychain and works with iPhone 4S and the New iPad 3 to help you find your missing keys. It lights up and vibrates when triggered from the app you download to your iPhone or iPad, and is low energy so it will run for six months before you need to worry about replacing the battery.

If you don’t see the light or hear the audible vibration of Hone, then simply walk around with the app open and follow the proximity sensor and it will lead you to your missing keys. The device has a 150 foot range so you don’t have to be right on top of your keys for it to work and weighs only .6 ounces.

This is currently a Kickstarter Project that has been fully funded, but they’re seeking additional funding to make it even better. If they can get it past $80K they hope to be able to reduce the size of the circuit board and improve the battery life and are looking at making the app work with the Pebble by next year.

Donations will not only help make this little gadget better, but will put one in your hands as soon as they are available around October. The Hone Kickstarter has all the details about the various reward levels and will be updated with stretch goals as they’re announced.
