No matter how popular the world of K-Pop music is getting (and it is growing fast globally), K-Pop tree ornaments are pretty much still non-existent.
There are some great artisans out there making beautiful custom ornaments, but sometimes you need to come up with something quicker. When you’re on a Christmas budget and time, crunch, homemade often is the best route.
Here are three ornament design ideas for a K-Pop themed decorating for Christmas and the holiday season:
Light Stick Christmas Lights
Find a cheap set of small round string lights (sometimes called globe lights), and glue small pieces of paper straws to each of them. You can use boba straw pieces for larger lights. Next, use a paint pen, felt tip markers or stickers to draw the group logo on the lights, and they are ready to string. You can do one group or make a multi-stan strand with different groups.

Top Loader Ornaments
This is as easy simply decorating a top loader. Just find small holiday season stickers for the edges. Insert your favorite idol, and it is done! Because these are ornaments, you will want to make it double-sided. Use two cards back to back, and decorate the edges both sides. Or simply decorate the entire back side of the top loader, and use one card. Use an extra sticker to hold on a small loop of string for hanging. This way you don’t have to punch a hole in the top loader.

This is also a fun idea for a stocking stuffer or gift tag. If you want to take it to the next level, make 24 of these, cover each with cheap wrapping paper, and hang them on a piece of ribbon for an advent or countdown calendar. This is a fun way to give a pack of photo cards as a gift. Cheap “Lomo” cards work great!
Memory Filled Ornaments
I have done similar ornament ideas over the past, because there is nothing more personal than your own experiences. Memory ornaments use plain, clear plastic or glass ornaments filled with items from a trip or special occasion. Beach sand, tree leaves, parade confetti and more make fun fillers.
This also works perfect with K-Pop memories! Concerts, fan meets, album launches, and cup sleeve events often come with little trinkets and giveaways you can place in an ornament. Some plastic ornaments open up like plastic Easter eggs, if you want to use larger items.

If you attended a concert over the past year especially, you will want to both cherish that memory and save some money. Those events are way too expensive. Place little beaded bracelets, small stickers, little key chains, any concert confetti or streams you may have amassed or even small photos from the even in the ornament. Add some top loader stickers, and label it with the name and date of event. This is something fun to get out each year! If it is cool enough, you can keep it out year round.
My daughter has special ornaments she hangs in her room throughout the year, and brings them out for the tree each December. All three of these ideas are perfect for that.
If you have creativity and an hour or two to spare, bringing a K-Pop look to the tree is easier than you think.
That is, until Hallmark or some other firm realizes a Light Stick ornament series will be profitable.
