Buzz Lightyear and Friends Finally Go to Infinity and Beyond on an Alaska Airlines Plane

Alaska Airlines recently unveiled a plane decked out with some friendly, familiar faces: Buzz Lightyear, Bo Peep, and Woody! The iconic Toy Story trio are the latest pop culture characters to take flight on the side of an Alaska Airlines plane. (Forky is also along for the ride on the tail.) Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson helped kick off the plane’s first flight with a surprise appearance at Seattle’s airport.

The Toy Story 4 plane is the airline’s latest collaboration with Disney/Pixar. Passengers on what they thought was a typical flight to Orange County were surprised at their gate with a Toy Story photo booth, activities, giveaways, the surprise appearance by Wilson, and more celebrating the film’s release and the friendship between the two companies.

Their shared goal is simple, said Alaska Airlines’ marketing manager Franco Finn, to “create amazing, magical experiences together.”

This isn’t the first time beloved characters have taken a ride along with Alaska’s happy passengers. Earlier this year, Alaska Airlines debuted their Captain Marvel-emblazoned plane as the 737 literally took the hero higher, further, and faster than ever.

If you’ve ever wondered just how all of these characters take flight, here’s an inside look from Alaska Airlines showing how it all comes together.

Lucky passengers on the plane’s inaugural flight also answered trivia questions posed by Wilson to win movie tickets, toys, and even round-trip airfare for two.

Alaska Airlines has long been my personal favorite airline and our dependable go-to for family vacations, trips home for the holidays, and more. Their enthusiasm for their passengers is shown on every flight, not just the ones that you take alongside Buzz, Woody, and Bo.

Toy Story 4 is out in theaters everywhere on June 21, 2019.
