Downton Abbey Season Five Sneak Peek

Image: PBS.org Downton Abbey cast with all our old favorites, what will happen to the remaining cast in 2014?

Season Five is coming. This week a teaser was released to British audiences. It gives away nothing. It hints at nothing. It shows none of the new actors, and none of the regulars. Even with it’s lack of content, I am enthralled, but then the dulcet tones of Mr. Carson talking of change will do that to me.

Sue Johnston joins as a recurring guest character. Sue has been a regular on British television in The Royle Family and Coronation Street, and has recently been seen to US audiences on The Walking Dead. She will join the cast as Denker, Lady’s Maid to the Dowager Countess.

She joins other guest actors, Richard E. Grant, Anna Chancellor and Rade Sherbedgia for season five. Also returning in their guest roles, Dame Harriet Walter as Lady Shackleton and Peter Egan as Lord Flintshire.

Downton Abbey returns to UK audiences this autumn, and again concludes at Christmas 2014 with a feature length episode. We will undoubtedly have to wait longer on this side of the pond.
