This Week With the GeekMoms

Brigid is giving away a free print of her latest painting for fall, Autumn Queen. Enter to win! She’ll also have a booth at Dallas FanDays this weekend.

Nicole Wakelin is trying to recover from an epic weekend at New York Comic Con. It’s likely going to take at least a month for this to happen.

After hectic weekends at Comic Con and Maker Faire, Amy is looking forward to heading out of the city and up to Vermont. Please keep your fingers crossed on her behalf that there are still a couple of leaves on the trees.

Rachel Cericola is desperately trying to catch her breath — literally. She’s dealing with one of the worst colds that she’s had in a really long time. After she comes up for air (literally), she needs to start pulling together her son’s Halloween costume. Time is running out!

Dakster Sullivan has…absolutely nothing planned this weekend!! WhooHoo! Sounds like a good time for naps, reading, and anything else her heart desires.

Rebecca Angel is catching up after a whirling weekend at New York ComicCon. Her children’s choir is performing their concert this weekend entitled, “Songs of Peace, Thanks and Friendship.” The children are ages 3 -10 and absolutely adorable.

Chaos Mandy is saying goodbye to a friend this weekend. Her wake will be filled with laughter and good friends, just like her life was.

Helene has been busy over the first half of the month. After a weekend trip to World Maker Faire NY, she attended her cousin’s wedding in New Orleans, LA. The last week has been spent feverishly preparing her husband, GeekDad Brian, for his work trip to Antarctica. He left yesterday. Now she is in charge of her two silly boys while catching up on all of her GeekMom writing!

Judy Berna is gearing up for a long awaited trip back to her hometown of Columbia, Missouri. While living in New York for five years, she rarely got back home. Having a new book to promote was a great excuse to ride back into town. Meanwhile, her former New York newspaper did a nice little plug for her book and made her miss all the great friends she found out east. She’s enjoying the views and wildlife in her new home state of Colorado. Waking up to find elk herds covering your front yard never gets old.

Kris Bordessa is playing catch up after a long weekend in Waikiki where she was treated to a lomi lomi massage and did not have to cook dinner. Alas, when she arrived home there were dishes to do and hungry people. Now, she’s planning ahead for a full week of cooking for nearly a hundred people at the upcoming Kahumoku ‘Ohana Music and Lifestyle Workshop on the Big Island. From one extreme to another, it seems!
