Leopards & Tigers & Bears To Wear

spirithoods.com

Stifled the impulse to run wild for too long? Express your inner animal by slinging an owl, fox or any of more than 20 creatures on your head. It won’t hurt a single living being.

These are SpiritHoods. The company is run by a four friends who share a love of the outdoors but never intended to go into the apparel business: Ashley Haber. Chase Hamilton, Marley Marotta, and Alexander Mendeluk. Alexander explains in an Indie Fashion Daily interview that it all started when he and Marley made a few animal hats. Everyone who wore one got the same reaction, “All of a sudden, people wanted to know you, be your best friend, take you home…”

Maybe those reactions are why their two-year-old company has taken off. SpiritHoods are spotted on celebrities in the UK, at the Sundance Film Festival, and all over.

These hoods are made locally and 10 percent of the proceeds from certain hoods are donated to a non-profit dedicated to the conservation of that particular animal. That’s positively beastly.
