It took the sharp ears of a Rutgers grad student to lead to the discovery of a previously undocumented frog species. Jeremy Feinberg was intrigued by the unique mating call of a frog, as he walked through a Staten Island park. Further investigation revealed a brand new type of leopard frog.
It’s a pretty incredible find, considering the little green guy has been hanging out in one of the most densely populated areas of the United States, and only recently got called out. So far this new species remains unnamed. I vote for “Feinberg Frog” or better yet, “Kermie.”
