The Lost Gardens of Heligan

Photo: plusgood

I am a sucker for growing things, hence I have just added the Lost Gardens of Heligan to my “must see before I die” list. Just look at that picture! Located in Cornwall, England, Heligan has been the seat of the Tremayne family for more than 400 years. With 200 acres open for exploration, visitors can enjoy Victorian productive gardens (think: edibles), romantic pleasure grounds (???!), and lush sub-tropical jungle. I’ve got to say, though, that my focus would be on tracking down the giant’s head and the mud maid. Until my travel budget allows me to get to the UK, I’ll have to content myself with following them on Facebook. Have any of you GeekMom readers visited Heligan?
