This guide will help you find the species, class, and creature options which can bring those identities to life. I would like to note, however, that if you are not trans […]

The search for a perfect mini is never ending. Whether you’re a player or dungeon master, it can be frustrating to try to bring your vision to life, only to find that to miniatures you have are all the wrong size, have the wrong weapons, or lack spell effects. Over the years, I have found […]

If you’re looking to get started in the world of 3D printing, or it’s time to make […]

A common question historical reenactors hear this time of year is, “Don’t you get hot in all those clothes?” While, yes, people two hundred years ago did wear more clothing and layers than we do today, and, yes, anyone would get hot in 95 degrees F, there is a reason people who wear historical dress […]

In my last post, I covered the mental health benefits of bullet journaling. Today, I’ll dive into my other favorite journaling method: art journaling. If May was a good reading month, then June was perhaps the opposite. I read far less last month than I hoped and I found myself bogged down in the books I did read. Nevertheless, a couple of crackers are on the list, starting with a light-hearted undead caper. Here is my June 2024 book […]

Not long after I reviewed LEGO’s other big Lord of the Rings Icons set, Rivendell, our favorite Danish company announced a new LotR Icons set for Barad-dûr. While Firelock Games has several titles in their catalogue, they are probably best known for Blood and Plunder, a 28 mm historical tabletop game set in the 17th Century Caribbean. Recently, they launched a Kickstarter Campaign for Port Royal, a miniatures skirmish tabletop game sharing the same setting. The game is loosely based on the […]

Little People have come a long way! From the little cylindrical wooden bodies with round heads (cute, but also a choking hazard) to the articulated versions that bend at the waist to the chunky figurines you see now, Little People have been entertaining kids for a couple generations now. (Remember the barn that moos? I […]

Coming from WhatonEarth Books, whom I work with frequently, I knew the book would be an interesting, quality read. It turns out it might be my […]
