Playmobil Playroom: Playmobil 123 Zoo

Reading Time: 1 minute

Welcome to the Playmobil Playroom, where we take a monthly peek inside those impressive blue boxes and see what treasures await within. Sometimes we’ll have step-by-step photos walking you through assembly, maybe we’ll discuss and review a particular set or theme, or maybe we’ll have an unboxing video.

Playmobil has a newer line of toys geared towards littler kids called Playmobil 123. These sets have less small parts, easier assembly, and plenty of fun. We got five of the zoo ecosystem sets to play with.

Here’s the unboxing, setup, and play we did on our first day with the sets.

Specs:

  • Product Number: 9377, 9378, 9379, 9380, 9381
  • Number of Pieces: 27, 10, 5, 2, 2
  • Number of figures: 4,1,4,1,1
  • Extras required: None!

Ease of Build:

On a scale of 1-5, these sets are a 1, as designed. There is very little actually putting together and more just placing elements where you want them to be and playing. Perfect for little children.

Coolest Features:

  • As you can see from the video the slide, swing, and merry-go-round were my daughter’s favorite things.
  • The variety if animals available.
  • Food for the animals!

Playability:

Because most of these sets involves just placing pieces in whatever configuration you want, in some ways there is more room for imaginative play than some of the more complicated sets for bigger kids. And while these were definitely geared towards little kids, my older son (six years old) also had fun setting up his own zoo and playing with his sister.

(Disclosure: This Playmobil set was provided free of charge for review purposes. All opinions remain our own.)
