Putting gifts under the tree before Santa arrives has proven to be too tempting. Alice already opened up one present from my parents. We packed it back up and put it up high. Lesson learned: wait for Santa.
Alice likes to wave at the tree and say, “Hi!” As someone who celebrates the winter solstice, I feel like that is totally appropriate. This will be the first year that Alice truly experiences my husband’s and my holiday traditions, so that’s pretty exciting. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing a blend of beloved family traditions. I wonder what Alice’s favorites will be?
