When the BBC announced the 13th Doctor as female, women and the transgender community rejoiced. Finally, a female-identifying Doctor.
Since that announcement, those fans looking forward to the new season have been grasping at the crumbs of information dropped along the fan trail. However, today the BBC announced the following exciting news.
The landmark first episode by new showrunner Chris Chibnall is titled “The Woman Who Fell To Earth.”
On Sunday, October 7, the US premiere of the new season will debut at the same as the UK premiere. However, fans, the actual time of day remains “to be determined.”
The new Doctor (Jodi Whittaker) will be joined by new friends (note: not “companions”) Ryan (Tosin Cole), Yasmin (Mandip Gill), and Graham (Bradley Walsh).
The BBC promises that the “next era” in Doctor Who “blazing a global trail to match Jodie Whittaker’s revolutionary first season” will be “packed full of action, humor, emotion, and adventures.”
