Dakster’s Gift Guide for the Bag Obsessed

Bags worthy of gift giving Image: Dakster Sullivan

I’m a bag geek. I’m attracted to anything that resembles a bag like a moth to a flame or a Jawa to a droid. In honor of my obsession here is my list of the best bags to get your own bag obsessed geek this holiday season.

Humvee Transport Gear Backpack

Price: $42.00
Where to buy: Amazon
I like the Humvee Transport Gear Backpack for its techy look and how spacious it is despite how compact it appears. My 15-inch MacBook Pro is a bit snug fitting but it’s a safe snug feeling. It has two outer pockets and two larger compartments for your other items. The outer straps are great for hanging keys, yo-yos, or just about anything small you need to throw on it.

Humvee Shoulder Bag

Price: $24.99
Where to buy: Amazon
The Humvee Shoulder Bag is my go-to for my cameras. It holds my DSLR, a GoPro, Rode microphone, spare batteries, and other small accessories with ease. It also makes a great day bag when you are just going out and about around town. It has two pockets on the flap, two larger outer pockets on the side, one small pocket under the flap, and a larger main compartment. Like it’s big brother, the Humvee Transport Gear bag, it also has straps on the outside that’s perfect for clipping on small items.

Solo New York Cameron Rolltop Backpack

Price: $149.99
Where to buy: Solo New York’s website
If a backpack can have a pajama comfy feel, the Solo Cameron Rolltop Backpack has it. The material is soft to the touch but padded enough to make me feel secure about putting my MacBook Pro inside. The metal buckles are a nice touch to the design. I like how it’s easy to organize my bear necessities for work and school.

Solo New York Elite Backpack

Price: $79.99
Where to buy: Solo New York’s website
Stop me if you’ve heard this one, a duffle bag and backpack have a baby…the Solo Elite Backpack is the bag you take when you don’t plan on going home that night. It has a duffle bag like opening on the front, separate spot to hold your shoes, and can hold my laptop pretty easily. The backpack straps make it easy to lug around wherever you may be traveling.

Solo New York Draft Backpack

Price: $49.99
Where to buy: Solo New York’s website
The Solo Draft Backpack is a cheaper alternative to the other Solo bags with the same amount of organization without some of the added features of its big brothers. I like the small front pocket to store my keys and wallet while the bottom pocket is great for keeping my MacBook brick organized. It will also hold my laptop with a bit more wiggle room than its brothers.

Price: $89.99

Have backpack. Will travel. That would be the Matador Beast20 Portable Backpack’s moto if it could have one. The best feature of this bag is that you can compress it and throw it in your luggage for those out and about days or just in case you need more space to bring home souvenirs. The straps are comfortable and it has plenty of pockets to make any organizer happy. If that isn’t enough to convince you of its awesomeness, check out my full review here on GeekMom.

Aggretsuko is my favorite of the Hello Kitty characters and her Ai-tatA bag shows off her adorable red panda features. The bag comes with a jumbo acrylic trinket, vinyl pouch, a plush keychain, and a 3-inch pin. Wanna see how much this bag can handle? Check out my full review here on GeekMom.
