‘My Little Pony: Equestria Girls: Legend of Everfree’ Review and Giveaway

Official Synopsis:
Fresh air – check. Starlit nights – check. Scary stories – freaky deaky! The Equestria Girls are leaving the halls of Canterlot High School for a field trip to Camp Everfree, where they meet the free-spirited camp director Gloriosa Daisy and her ruggedly handsome brother Timber Spruce. However, they get more than canoeing and camp fires when magic begins to wreak havoc on the camp. They’re surprised to find a magical force is causing strange things to happen, and the girls seem to be developing new powers. The Equestria Girls will have to work together to control the magic or it will destroy their beloved camp. But what is behind this new magic? And there’s more than meets the eye with the always cheery Gloriosia Daisy…. With the help of the Mane 6 and especially Sunset Shimmer (who refuses to give up on her), Twilight Sparkle must confront the dark “Midnight Sparkle” within herself and embrace her newfound magical abilities to save Camp Everfree.

The good.
The story is a nice continuation of the My Little Pony: Equestria Girls: Friendship Games and we see how Twilight has (or hasn’t really) been able to overcome the nightmare of being Midnight Sparkle. Sunset Shimmer takes the lead as the character in charge and gets most of the screen time. The other characters do not play second fiddle though and are all written strongly.

The bad.
The story is less of one overall plot with a grand finale and more of a bunch of subplots that are tied together in the end. That is not to say it’s a bad movie, but it’s not what I first imagined when I saw the trailer. Of the four movies, this one is the most relaxing in terms of action.

The subplots that litter the movie aren’t badly written and are actually kind of fun to watch. They all get tied together nicely in the end when the final villain is revealed.

Other children I know who have seen this have chimed in and they all enjoyed it thoroughly. One said that their favorite Equestria Girls movie is still Rainbow Rocks but this one was still fun to watch.

Now that you know what we think about the movie, it’s time to win a copy of your own before you can buy it!
