New Batman Converse High Tops!

I have two pairs of Wonder Woman Converse sneakers (see below) and, without fail, whenever I wear them, someone will ask, “OMIGOD, those are awesome, where did you get them?” In short, I get more comments on them than any other item of clothing I’ve ever owned.

But, of course, Converse has a whole collection of DC character sneakers, most only available for a limited time. You can’t buy the WW pairs that I own anymore, nor the WW sneakers from last year that featured a white background and gold stars. But the flip side of this is that new, cool designs come along, like these two new pairs of Batman sneakers.

From the Converse press release:

This year, DC Comics is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Frank Miller’s seminal comic series of “The Dark Knight Returns.” Converse has created a premium Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 collection that uses a variety of artwork from the Batman comic archives over the last 77 years. Key features of the sneaker include premium leather with emboss detail, satin lining and iconic archive comics printed on a premium canvas upper. Each style includes an embossed Batman logo on the tongue, a Chuck Taylor patch, a rubber glow-in-the-dark collectible hang tag and an ice outsole with an archive print story underneath, with archive artwork on the sock liner.

The Fall 2016 Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 DC Comics Batman Collection will be available for purchase starting October 1, 2016 at specialty retailers, Converse stores and Converse.com. The footwear will retail for a suggested price of $115-125 USD.

I snuck into Journeys at my local mall last week (before Saturday) to look at them but they weren’t on shelves at that moment. Unfortunately, they’re also only listed in men’s sizes. However, you can convert the sizes for women with this size conversion chart.

And, yes, that’s a high price point. But my pairs have held up well in the three years I’ve owned them.
