House of Marley: CHANT  Mini review

One mini speaker. One family. Let’s get together and feel alright.

This summer we have taken the CHANT Mini bluetooth speaker that I received from The House of Marley for a review everywhere.  We made this video to show off the great sound it provided, one that’s rich and clear for such a small speaker. The volume does decrease as I move too far away from it and it does work better for defined areas like your beach blanket or picnic, but overall, it’s a fine product.

My five-year-old even carries it with ease and calls it her little music drum.

The speaker is small enough to throw into a backpack or clip onto a wagon. A carabineer clip from recyclable aluminum is included with it for portability. It also feels good to hold, as you can feel the beat of the base pulsing along with the music.

The speaker contains a 1 x 3w – 1.5” driver and passive radiator, which is responsible for its clear sound. I could also pair the CHANT to my Samsung Phone, as it’s compatible with hundreds of Bluetooth enabled devices as well as AUX and RCA inputs. It has a built-in microphone which  transforms the speaker into a speakerphone for hands-free calls and operation. The CHANT comes with a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery which provides up to 6 hours of wireless playback.

There is a USB port and cable included to charge it as well.

House of Marley products have a laid back natural design using recycled and sustainably sources. It’s crafted from earth-friendly materials including their Rewind fabric, which blends eco-plastic and aluminum housings with natural bamboo detailing.

I have two nephews who love music and Marley and these would be perfect graduation or holiday gifts.

Dislikes

• Wishing the sound carried for more of a distance
• It is worth mentioning that our own GeekDad, Brad Moon had a negative experience with his CHANT speaker. The issue he had with the USB connector falling off the circuit board after three charges has not appeared with this model.
