October not only brings Halloween fun every year, but the return of Star Wars Reads Day! As Episode VII gets closer and closer, this year’s event promises to be more exciting than ever. With a ton of new Star Wars books to choose from, events nationwide, and spoiler-free activity sheets for The Force Awakens, Star Wars Read Day 2015 will be a blast!
If you haven’t picked up any of the new “Journey to the Force Awakens” books yet, there’s no better time to get one for you and the kids. Moving Target by Cecil Castellucci and Jason Fry is an action-packed read for kids with a peek inside Princess Leia’s mindset after the events of The Empire Strikes Back. There’s even a tiny hint or two about what the future holds for Princess Leia in The Force Awakens.
Ultimate Star Wars fans should pick up Ultimate Star Wars, a comprehensive look at the galaxy with a Who’s-Who and What’s-What good for hours of Star Wars reading fun. And if you’re going to GeekGirlCon this weekend, you can meet author Tricia Barr for a signing of the book! (Find more signings and events here.)
And don’t forget to download the activity sheet for The Force Awakens—there are no spoilers, so your kids can color without worry.
What are you doing for Star Wars Reads Day?
