ConCarolinas Next Weekend!

ConCarolinas is a science fiction convention that takes place in Charlotte, NC every year. This year’s con will take place on June 3-5, 2011 at Charlotte Hilton University Place.

For the last few years, I’ve attended ConCarolinas. It’s a great con that isn’t too large, but still offers a lot of programming. It also was the first con my daughter ever attended since we first went in 2008 when my daughter was 7 months old.

There are panels, a dealer’s room, celebrities, a film fest, gaming and a lot more! For me, my favorite part of ConCarolinas is the gaming. Because of having a toddler, I can’t play in the local gaming group (they meet Tuesday nights and my husband is on 2nd shift) so ConCarolinas lets me get some gaming in while my husband is on toddler duty.

This year, they are having a Firefly LARP that I’m really looking forward to, along with being able to spend some time away from my child, geeking out. It is really a great little con with lots of shiny activities you can participate in.
