Hawaii Five-0’s Kukui High is Making the Grade

Love it or hate it, the new Hawaii Five-0 is making a splash across the nation. One surprise? The fictional alma mater of Steve McGarrett and Chin Ho Kelly — mentioned just once in the series pilot — is making the grade with TV viewers. Two fast thinking, web-savvy fans in Hawai’i launched a website for the non-existent Kukui High School, inviting viewers to sign up as “alumni.” Just three weeks into the new season, more than a hundred Kukui High grads have added their yearbook entries and Kukui High t-shirts are flying off the shelves. Go, Nuts!
