Eric Stoltz as Marty McFly in Back to the Future?

Can you even begin to imagine Back to the Future without Michael J. Fox? Sacrilege, I say! And yet, the first five weeks of filming the original Back to the Future movie cast Eric Stoltz as Marty McFly. With the release of the 25th anniversary Back to the Future trilogy, we’re getting a peek at what the movie could have been. Director Robert Zemeckis, unhappy with the comedic skills of Stoltz, was able to convince the studio to let him reshoot five weeks of film leaving us with the lasting legacy of Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly. Thank goodness.
