Continue ReadingThe Galactic Academy is one of the best kept secrets of Star Wars costuming. Dedicated to the fans 17 and under, these costumers are a force to be reckoned with. Unlike their big brother and big sister organizations, the 501st and Rebel Legion, the Galactic Academy does not require screen accuracy to be welcomed in. The only requirement is the child must be under the age of 18-years old and own a Star Wars costume of some kind.

Known for the professional grade costumes and charity work, the 501st Legion was a big part of the convention, with troopers coming from all over the world to showcase their costumes, props and sets.

Continue ReadingLast weekend, I had the amazing opportunity to take part in Star Wars Celebration VI. Attending the convention was just one part of my experience. The other part, was volunteering as the 501st Legion Kid Bash Coordinator. Running alongside the Imperial Bash, the Kid Bash was a party just for the kids of 501st Legion members. The event was a huge success and thanks to some very special sponsors, each child went home with a swag bag all their own.
