I have a little bit of a subscription box thing. At this point, I get two regularly, but there’s a few I grab here and there depending on the theme. Other than the occasional Funko Smuggler’s Bounty or Marvel Collector Corp Box, most of my subscription boxes are from more independent smaller companies, including the two I get regularly. Back in May, Facebook was kindly ready to enable this love of small businesses with geeky offerings by showing me an ad for Nerdy Post, a company that does hand-lettered and illustrated fandom related artwork that goes on a selection of products including stickers, postcards, bookmarks, prints, t-shirts, pins, and other fun items. The theme being advertised was Marvel 2.0 and I was immediately tempted.
Nerdy Post Boxes come in a variety of sizes and once you subscribe, you can easily skip months or switch between sizes. The smallest size box is $9.95 plus shipping, with the largest size going for $38.90 plus shipping. If you go here you can see what is included in each size box as well as subscribe. Some people might be a bit more reluctant to drop over $40 bucks on a box without knowing what is in it Luckily, themes are announced in advance with a preview of the t-shirt design. Towards the latter half of the month, there is also a spoiler post put up with the quotes for the other items and what level box they come in. That way if you only want items for a lower level box, you only have to order that one.

For the Marvel 2.0 box, I ordered the Ultimate Nerdy Post for $22.95, which includes everything but the shirt. The shirt in question was more Iron Man oriented and he doesn’t tend to be an Avenger I buy clothing merchandise of, so I bounced to a lower level box.
First up, the smallest items. An adorable Thor Nerdy Post Exclusive Magnetic Bookmark, A “I love you 3000” Nerdy Post Exclusive Pin guaranteed to give you all the feels, and three stickers with the following quotes: “We are Groot,” “Superhero landing!,” and “Oh, we’re using our made up names? I’m Spider-Man” I thought they were all great and promptly had to hide the stickers or my boys absolutely will try to commandeer them.
Next up, was the bookmarks. They’re all double-sided, so I made sure to include pictures of both sides. The “fat” bookmark has “I get e-mails from a raccoon. So nothing sounds crazy anymore” on one side with an awesome Black Widow sketch and “I’m with you till the end of the line” on the other. I love Captain America, so I had to have this one. One of the other bookmarks had “I put the brains and the brawn together and now look at me. Best of both worlds” on one side and “I know my value” on the other. I adore Peggy Carter, so this was a must have for me too. The final bookmark included Loki’s line about “Is that how I am to while away eternity… Reading” on one side and a silhouette of the Trickster God on the other.
The mini prints are some of my favorite items and I have goals to start making a photo wall with them. This box included “We never lose our demons, we only learn to live above them” from Doctor Strange, “What should we do next—Something good, something bad? Bit of both? Bit of both” from Guardians of the Galaxy. Also representing the Guardians is a foil print of an adorably annoyed Rocket with “Honestly…. I thought you were a Build-a-Bear” on it. I’m a big fan of the Guardians of the Galaxy, so those two were certainly must haves for me. We also got a color it yourself postcard from Ant-Man and the Wasp favorite Luis, “Hey sorry about freaking out earlier but I feel like way better. Like my heart is definitely beating way too hard and stuff and like my hands are shaking but I think it’s unrelated.” Admit it, you probably read it in his voice too. Ant-Man is my favorite underrated superhero, so I loved getting something from one of his movies.
The big print was an Endgame quote, “Everyone fails at who they are supposed to be… A measure of a person—of a hero—is how well they succeed at being who they are.” How is that for an inspirational quote to put up in your home office?
Finally, the coolest item had to be the Captain Marvel tapestry with “Higher, Further, Faster, Baby” on it and a gorgeous picture of Carol Danvers herself. This thing is huge and when I was photographing it, my boys were trying to convince me to hang it in their play loft.

I loved my first Nerdy Post box, and I have even done a Build Your Own Box to grab a few things from the first Marvel box I didn’t want to miss out on. I can very much see myself grabbing a box here or there depending on the theme, or even grabbing Build Your Own Box items as gifts. The July Box is Disney Princess themed, and if you get in fast enough on the June 30th, you can still order one if that’s something you’re into.
