Polaroid Snap Touch is a basic camera for the basic user. but that doesn’t mean it’s not fun to use. I’m all for trying out new tech so I enjoyed playing around with the Snap Touch to see where it would fit in my photography bag.
Review Criteria
Here is how I will be judging this camera:
- Size/weight
- Basic interface and quality of photos
- Special features (something that makes it stand out)
Size/Weight
Let’s start with size/weight. This little guy comes in at almost 5 inches wide by 3 inches tall and 9 ounces. For a camera with a built-in printer that isn’t too shabby. It’s small enough and light enough that it will fit in my bag for a day out.
I give this 5 out of 5 film canisters.
Basic Features and Quality
13 Megapixels is decent for a starter camera or someone who is into fun and casual photography. The ability to print on-the-go adds to the sentiment that it’s a fun camera for a day/night out with friends.
The user interface is controlled by the 3.5-inch touch screen that sits on the back door of the camera.
All the settings are basic which, again, is good enough for the casual photographer.
Because this is a basic setup, for me this gets 4 out of 5 film canisters. I would have liked to see a little more control in the settings.
Special Features
This camera isn’t littered with special features but there’s enough to hold your attention.
- Photo booth
- Stickers
- Borders
- Embellishments
- Selfie mirror (sits right by the flash)
- Prints 2×3 inch smudge proof photos
Let’s talk about the printing for a moment. It uses zero ink technology so the only thing you need to print would be your choice of regular or sticky back ZINK paper. The printing isn’t 100% accurate on the colors but it satisfied me on just about all of my prints.
Printing takes only a few seconds and comes out the side of the camera. You can put 10 sheets in the camera at a time and they cost on average $9 for a pack of 20 sheets.
The Polaroid Snap Touch also has a microphone and shoots in 1080 / 720p video which is about average for a YouTube video. It’s nothing you’d want to show off on a super-sized HD TV but for a basic YouTuber, this would get the job done.
It has a tripod adapter on the bottom so any young filmmaker could use it for both photography and video if they’d like.
Overall, these are the kind of features I would expect in this kind of camera so I give it 5 out of 5 film canisters for special features.
Things I Like

- Works with my iPhone to print photos taken on my phone
- Photo Booth feature is fun to play around with

- Uses micro SD cards
What I Don’t Like
- The flash is the on/off button. This annoys me because if I don’t want to use the flash I still have to turn it on with the flash.
- Print quality is not 100% accurate on some of my iPhone photos.
How Do I Use It?
I used this camera for printing out my favorite snapshots off my phone more than taking pictures so far. It kind of gave me the push I needed to make a mini scrapbook of some of my adventures in GeekMom that I’ve been meaning to do. The fact that it also takes pictures is a bonus for me.
If my son needs a camera for a school project, this will be his go to camera because it’s simple enough for him to use and doesn’t overcomplicate the photo taking process. And since he can print as he goes that makes it easier to put the final report together.
Final Recommendation
If someone came to me needing a recommendation for a good camera for their newbie photographer this one would make the cut. Especially if that newbie wanted to print out their photos and do some old school scrapbooking.
