DC Collectibles is responsible for high-end quality items featuring the popular DC Comics characters. This month, they are releasing two new pieces that any fan of Aquaman/Mera or Harley Quinn would be happy to add to their collection. Aquaman/Mera join the “couples” line while Harley Quinn gets to hang out with the rest of the Cover Girls. both pieces are beautifully sculpted with their own unique features that make them stand out from the rest.

DC Cover Girls: Harley Quinn by Joelle Jones

Joelle Jone’s Covergirl statue line launches with none other than Harley Quinn, to be followed by Supergirl, Batgirl (my personal favorite of the bunch), and more to be announced at a later date.

Behind the new statue line is Eisner Award-nominated artist Joelle Jones, whom fans know from her Supergirl: Being Super mini-series. The classic Harley Quinn outfit is a favorite among fans and I’m glad to see it “fleshed” out in Joelle’s art style. In my opinion, it’s the little details that make a piece special, which is why my favorite aspect is Harley’s revolver with a string cork that you can place inside the gun or just let hang.

She would go great with the Bat-Signal I reviewed just a few months ago.

This piece is limited to 5,000 and stands approximately 11.02 inches tall.

Cover Girl: Harley Quinn is listed at a humble $125 and is available at select retailers.

DC Designer Series Aquaman/Mera Statue by Pat Gleason

Aquaman/Mera join the ranks of Batman, Superman, and Joker as the latest addition to the “couples” statues from DC Collectibles.

The statue’s artist, Pat Gleason, was also Aquaman’s illustrator in Aquaman #15-22, Subdiego. His art continues to impress me in his 3D rendition of the characters.

Of the two statues mentioned in this review, Aquaman/Mera are the force to be reckoned with, standing an impressive 16.32 inches tall.

Visually, this piece is beyond stunning with the illusion that the two characters are floating between the ocean elements. It’s as if the characters are frozen in time and sitting on my bookshelf.

DC Designer Series: Aquaman/Mera is on sale now with a retail of $250 (and you get your money’s with this one, I promise) and available at select retailers.

Regardless if you go with one piece or both, your collection will grow in awesomeness.

Do you have a favorite DC Comics character you’d like to see fleshed out for your shelf? Leave us a comment and let us know. We’d love to hear your thoughts.
