Madam Tussauds is an attraction shared with 24 locations across America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Featuring life-like works of art, each piece could be confused with the real thing (and in some cases actually has). To say it’s a tourist attraction would do an injustice to the beautifully detailed and exquisite work that goes into each figure. This is isn’t just an attraction. It’s a museum.

It takes over 250 measurements of each model to make their near perfect replica and very little modern technology is used to create each one, keeping in tradition with Madam Tussaud’s methods.

Here are my top 5 reasons why this is a must-see stop on your visit to my hometown of Orlando, Florida.

1. Over 60 photo opportunities

The museum features over 60 wax statues ranging from Barak Obama to Taylor Swift. And at many of the figures, there are props you can hold or wear to take photos with. I particularly like the guitar at Taylor Swifts spot and the hoodie with E.T. My son enjoyed sitting in the director’s chair next to Steven Spielberg and yelling at the various “actors” holding still for their close up. There are no ropes around the figures so you can get up close and personal with your favorite celebs (of course, use common sense when taking your photos).

2. A little bit of history

When you walk into the museum you are taken back to the days of pirates and map makers. As you walk through, you experience history as the leaders, movers and shakers all come to “life.” Included in this area are Neil Armstrong, President Lincoln, Barak Obama, and Martin Luther King.

3. A little bit of science

Do you have an artist or scientist that inspires you? Albert Einstein, Andy Warhol, and Steve Jobs are among those you will rub elbows within this area. Each of the figures has information to read to make it an educational experience.

4. See the REAL sexiest men alive.

You have Tom Hanks, Ryan Reynolds, Samuel Jackson, and Brad Pitt in this picture and even in wax figure form, they are still sexier than Blake Shelton.

5. Fun (and dry) in the AC

It takes around 45-minutes to walk through the entire exhibit and that means 45-minutes of escaping the Florida heat. While inside, you can make a keepsake wax hand to take home for an additional cost.

If you are in the Orlando area and looking for a fun indoor activity, Madam Tussauds is one not to be missed. Each of their locations plays host to a different set of figures so you will never see the same celeb in the same way twice.

Madam Tussauds is located at the I-Drive 360 complex in Orlando, Florida. Tickets start at $25 for adult single day tickets. If you purchase additional attractions like the Orlando Eye or Sea Life aquarium, the individual attraction prices get a bit cheaper. Strollers are permitted as well as service dogs (no pets please).
