Kylo Ren Lightsaber Painting

Kylo Ren’s lightsaber is unlike any other in the Star Wars universe. And now your preschoolers can create their own Star Wars paintings unlike any other, with just watercolors, a straw, and this fun technique!

What You Need

  • Watercolor paper
  • Black and gray cardstock or construction paper
  • Red washable paint
  • Paint brush
  • Water
  • Paint tray
  • School glue
  • Straw

Get Started!

Cut the gray paper into a strip approximately 0.75″ wide by 4″ long.

Cut the black paper into a strip approximately 1.25″ by 4″.

Glue the gray strip across one of the bottom corners. Glue the black strip in the center on top, perpendicular to the gray strip. Let the glue dry.

Next, mix a small amount of red washable paint with water in the paint tray. Stir well.

Use the paint brush to drip the paint in small dots on either side of the gray strip of paper.

Next, use the straw to blow the dots of paint across the paper to make the two hilt blades of Kylo Ren’s lightsaber.

Drip dots of paint to create the long blade of the lightsaber. Use the straw to blow the paint across the paper.

Let all paint dry, and the Kylo Ren lightsaber painting is complete!
