This week I had the pleasure of attending a press preview day for the new Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood : DC Universe. This grateful GeekMom found childcare and enjoyed spending an afternoon on the Warner Bros. famous studio lot. The sneak peek was well attended by press and bloggers, all eager to look at and take selfies with props and costumes from Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice and the upcoming Suicide Squad. Along with the actual weapons and sets from the movies, there was a DC video games area and first edition DC comics on display from their vault. My personal favorite overall was the Wonder Woman costume, looking bad ass and ready for her own movie.

My daughter is very into Harley Quinn right now and her costumes and props stole the show in the Suicide Squad area of the exhibit. Though these movies aren’t for my five-year-old, it is clear that the recent shake-up in the creators of the DC Universe is taking fan input, negative and positive, seriously.

Deciding to Periscope from the event, I managed to capture my own funny heroic journey from getting on the lot to eavesdropping on KISS celebrity and longtime collector Gene Simmons.

Take a look at my day in the videos below.

It was clear that they are ramping up for a busy summer of tours and, if you happen to get to Hollywood this year on your geeky travels, I recommend getting tickets.

Here is there official information:

Opening May 24, 2016, Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood and DC Entertainment will reveal the newest star attraction on the Warner Bros. lot in DC Universe: The Exhibit, featuring the greatest Super Heroes and Super Villains. DC Universe: The Exhibit will be the new first-floor feature in The Archive–which is just one of many stops on Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood.

As part of the newest addition to the Tour, guests will be able to explore authentic props and costumes from the highly anticipated summer film, ‘Suicide Squad,’ two months prior to the film’s debut in theaters. Highlights of the interactive experience include the original Belle Reve prison cell set once occupied by Harley Quinn (portrayed on-screen by Margot Robbie) in ‘Suicide Squad,’ as well as the Bat lab in the Batcave from Ben Affleck’s first outing as Batman in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.’ The exhibit also pays homage to the origins of DC Comics, including all seven Super Heroes of the Justice League, exclusively at Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood.

Inside DC Universe: The Exhibit, Studio Tour guests will be treated to an exclusive sneak peek at David Ayer’s upcoming ‘Suicide Squad’ as they explore authentic props and costumes from the film on a rotating basis. Assets from characters Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Joker, Boomerang, Enchantress, Katana, Diablo, Slipknot, Rick Flag, and Killer Croc will interchange throughout the summer in advance of the film’s August 5 release.

The exhibit also showcases ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ through an interactive experience, paying homage to the original “Super Hero,” Superman, and nocturnal crime-fighter, Batman. Guests will have the opportunity to get up close to Kryptonite, Superman’s sole weakness.  Inserting their hands into a pair of gloves, inside a case holding the element, they will mirror Lex Luthor (played in the film by Jesse Eisenberg) and his kryptonite case featured in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.’  Additionally, guests can see striking Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman costumes, as well as the authentic costumes of Lois, Clark, Alfred, and Bruce Wayne, original Bat Lab in the Batcave set pieces, and much more. Reserve your tickets today for Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood.
