My children love the movie Finding Nemo. My parents keep a copy of the DVD at our family’s condo and it is a tradition for us to watch the movie together on every single visit.

It’s a cute movie, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to a change. At this point, I can recite the entire movie from memory. It would be wonderful to add a new movie to the mix!

Thankfully, Disney is releasing Finding Dory on June 17th. I cannot wait to take the kids to see it, but my kids are even more excited.

They are over the moon about the movie’s release.

The energy is high.

They need a distraction, and fortunately, I’ve found it. Today, I’m sharing five of our favorite Finding Nemo–themed books to keep your children occupied until the big day!

5 Nemo-Themed Books to Keep Kids Busy Until Finding Dory is released on June 17th:

  1. Dory’s Ocean Secrets
Your children will love this interactive book which requires them to write down some of their favorite parts of the movie, learn about ocean creatures, and create wish lists. You’ll be excited that they are practicing their reading and writing skills while having fun!
  2. Finding Dory Sticker Scenes
I have yet to meet a child who didn’t love sticker books. In this book, children will read the story of how Dory got her memory back and then complete the scenes using stickers.
  3. Finding Nemo Little Golden Book
Little Golden Books always remind me of my childhood! My children love this version of the Finding Nemo story.
  4. Finding Nemo Read-Along Storybook and CD
Let’s be honest here: Sometimes I grow tired of Nemo. I reach the point where I just can’t read one more Nemo book. That’s where this audiobook comes into play. Plus, my kids love hearing all of the characters’ voices.
  5. My Busy Book: Finding Nemo
Busy Books are such a fantastic invention! While they certainly won’t win any literary awards, they never fail to inspire creativity and imagination among my children. Each Busy Book comes with a dozen small figurines and a fold-out play mat where children can re-enact the scenes from the book.
