When the call went out for GeekMom readers to help us respond to Vogue’s proclamation that Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer is “an unusually stylish geek,” we got some awesome responses. And we think they prove our point that geeks have style in spades. Check out the highlights from the submissions below.

Katie Terry is a med student who co-authors a fashion blog, phenotype: Fabulous, with her best friend.

Kitty Heaven is mom to a two-year-old, and she made this dress herself. She had the manga print she designed printed up by Spoonflower, who we adore. She made the kanzashi in her hair from manga pages.

Emily Lakdawalla, blogger for The Planetary Society, wore this awesome Mars Rover skirt from Etsy shop Go Follow Rabbits at last year’s annual meeting of the Division for Planetary Sciences of the American Astronomical Society.

Natalie Shaw made these Doctor Who shoes, which we are seriously coveting, and even wrote up a tutorial for them at her blog Doodlecraft.

Author Barb Ferrer bid on and won this Proenza Schouler gown (originally worn by Maggie Gyllenhaal at the 2007 Oscars) at a Clothes Off Our Backs auction. She wore it the night her debut novel won a RITA award.

GeekMom Jackie Reeve loves coats and knit that scarf herself. In 2011 she decided to photograph herself every day to keep track of her outfits, and when she found out she was pregnant it turned into quite the bump diary.
And here are the details from our fabulous submissions:
