What do you think of life without electricity, like what you see on NBC’s Revolution, FX’s The Walking Dead, or in the book/upcoming film World War Z? That’s what a low-yield nuclear blast in the upper atmosphere would cause, by exploding overhead and releasing an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that could impact circuitry of all shapes and sizes. Would you be okay?

Do you think the North Koreans actually have this capability? Or is history repeating itself and we’ve forgotten April Fool’s Day is over?

  1. I only become familiar with this possibility a year or so ago, after reading One Second After. I have to admit – especially because he’s (supposedly) targeting Hawaii – I’m taking a second look at my disaster preparedness, which, if nothing else, will come in handy come hurricane season. 😉

    1. For what it’s worth, Hawaii is a small target, and NK hasn’t had the best targeting skills, even with their test launches.

Seriously, though, thanks for taking all options seriously, even if Kim Jung Un is doing all this to get more food aid.
