April showers are bringing, well… they’re bringing out the monsters, apparently. Shout! Factory is releasing the animated adventure, A Monster on Paris, on DVD, Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D next Tuesday, April 16, 2013.
The film has an excellent voice cast, including Vanessa Paradis, Catherine O’Hara, Bob Balaban, Sean Lennon, Adam Goldberg, Jay Harrington, and Danny Huston. It should also be a pretty nifty one to watch in 3D, given all of the pretty Parisian cityscapes, the colorful characters, the scientific experiments, and of course, Franc.
Don’t have a 3D Blu-ray player? GeekMom is giving away the LG BP530 3D Blu-ray Player, along with a Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack of A Monster on Paris.
Now, you’re going to need a 3D TV to watch the movie in 3D, but this player is also a great 2D player and the combo pack has the regular Blu-ray as well. Just wanted to put that out there!

Hard to choose, but I’d have to agree with Grover as my favorite.
Picking a monster is super hard, but I’d have to go with Predator off the top of my head. (sorry if this double posts 😀 My daughter decided to press all the buttons on my keyboard while I was posting the first time :D)

There are so many great monsters that it’s hard to pick a favorite. As a kid, it was Olgra (Dark Crystal) or Gizmo. Teen years, Edward Scissorhands. Now I’d say either Animal or Dr. Zoidberg

MY wife says it just has to be the Giant puff marshmellow man from GHOSTBUSTERS! WHY?….CAUSE IF HE DOESNT EAT YOU FIRST, IT WOULD BE GREAT TO EAT HIM UP!!! besides, it comes from a classic monster scary movie!!!!

Frankenstein’s monster… always loved the classics
My favorite would be Frankenstein from Young Frankenstein. Watching him sing (kind of) and dance was the best.
My favorite monster is Frankenstein’s monster, because he was a very tragic character, who didn’t behave like one. He was trying to find his own light in the darkness, but because of people’s mentalities, he was an outsider, and I could relate to him.
My favorite monster would have to be Totoro from the Studio Ghibli animated film “My Neighbor Totoro.” I guess he could be classified as a monster? Thanks for the contest!
Godzilla is my favorite monster! Originally called Gojira in the Japanese movie debut back in 1954. But the movie that most all of us here in the US are familiar with was/is called: Godzilla: King of the Monsters (1956). Essentially, it’s an edited and cropped version of the original movie, with the added footage of late actor, Raymond Burr as (Steve Martin).
My favorite monster is sesame streets’ Cookie Monster. He’s not scary and children love him.And you just have to love the way he enjoys a good cookie, as do I!!!

I’ve always liked the Bride of Frankenstein. I like how she has the high hair going on with the side wiggles of white. I also dig Lily from the Munsters. It’s all about the hair.

Ever since there was a monster at the end of my book, I’ve loved grover.
My favorite is probably Frankenstein, but my kids all say “The Daleks!” when asked the same question.

Favorite monster….. hmmm I have a thing for classic vampires…. there is something about immortal, depressed, killers. Plus I have wonderful memories of Interview with a vampire, using the Nintendo TV (with the rabbit ears control knobs and gritty picture) to watch Dark Shadows by myself and then have nightmares all night.
Apparently my kids say – Daleks!
My favorite monster? Cthulhu. Adorable, terrifying, and from a slew of well written horror that will always captivate me. 🙂 And hey- Lovecraftian children’s books DO exist… So maybe someday there will be a strange kids movie made of them? (Hahahah)

Favorite monster? Depends on what you are looking for. Favorite lovable monster- Grover, hands down. Favorite give-you-nightmares monster? Bela Lugosi’s Dracula. No gore , but still will appear in a bad dream, still in black and white.
