This Week With The Geek Moms

PATRICIA
Patricia is continuing to enjoy springtime in Florida, which seems more like summertime! After 3 trips to the beach in one week, the kids are back in school, and she’s back to enjoying spring flowers. She’s looking forward to her sister and nephews’ visit next week; her sister’s husband will be headed to his native Japan on Monday to serve with a recovery team.

BRIGID
Brigid is delighted at the warm reception to her Steampunk Giveaway for Steampunk Week. We’ll announce a winner on Monday! So be sure to tell your friends to enter!

JUDY
GeekMom Judy has fallen into the deep well of moving details. It started with deciding what was ‘moving truck worthy’ and clearing out the rest. A rather large dumpster was filled over the course of the week but there were also donations made to a homeless shelter and the local Habitat for Humanity Resale Store. Now that they’ve found the walls, she and her family are busy painting them, getting their house ready for the tight real estate market. Some day soon she hopes to come up for air.

AMY
While Amy wasn’t one of the three finalists in the National STEM Video Game Challenge, her game Sci-Heroes Save the Day made it to the top 10. She thanks everyone for their support. The winner will be announce on March 30.

LAURA
Laura is starting some seeds indoors while spring snow falls outside. She is researching children’s trauma recovery, which inspired a post about the power of stories.

ALISSON
Alisson is headed way down upon the Suwannee River to explore Natural North Florida for spring break. Her son is particularly looking forward to the log cabin at Suwannee River Rendezvous, where he’ll have to climb a ladder to get to his bedroom!

REBECCA
Rebecca Angel‘s production New York Mosaic at Siena College, went over very well, and she was proud of all the children involved. She would like to spend this week watching girly movies, but her homeschooled children’s choir Songs From Many Lands begins Friday, and she must spend her time getting ready for that.

JENNY
Jenny Williams is thrilled that her copy of Rock Band 3 and accompanying keyboard are on their way. She and her kids are ready to rock!
