NASA is planning to find and study new worlds beyond our solar system. In part, they hope to “detect and characterize hundreds of Earth-size and smaller planets.” Outsourcing just got scarier.
Before investing in astronaut ice cream futures, fool around with NASA’s attempt at a game called Planet Quest. Quite rapidly you’ll see it’s pretty difficult to replicate conditions deemed “necessary for life.”
As Planet Maker you can choose planet size, star type, distance from the star, and planetary age. Pop ups appear on options and over your newly created planet to let you know just how bad you are at planet design. Or how unimaginative the NASA folks are at defining “life.”
