LeapFrog Scholastic — The Magic School Bus: Oceans Review

I grew up on The Magic School Bus TV series and books. I loved seeing the various outfits that Ms. Frizzle would wear on each of her classes adventures in science. The adventure continues on for today’s generation and I’m happy to say my son has finally been introduced to Ms. Frizzle and her magical bus through his Leapster Explorer game, The Magic School Bus: Oceans.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the Nintendo DS

I was really excited to get this game downloaded to my son’s Nintendo 3DS. I’ve been a fan of Mario since my parents bought our family the first Nintendo system when I was 6 years old (did I just age myself?) and we played the original Mario Bros. Thankfully the games have come a long way since I was a kid and I’m happy to say this game keeps in with the spirit of the characters and the storyline.

Moshi Luna Backlit Keyboard Review

The Moshi Luna keyboard is my first keyboard that wasn’t wireless or didn’t come with my computer. I could tell the difference immediately when I took it out of the box. The acrylic glass that surrounds the keyboard gave it a sleek and neat appearance and the ergonomic design made me feel comfortable typing on it for long periods of time.

iPhone 5 Review – What’s Up and What’s Not

When the new iPhone 5 was announced, I immediately wanted one. I’m not an Apple computer person, but when it comes to their phones and other devices, I’ve found them to work great for what I need. Part of my job involves purchasing and setting up company phones for employees. I was curious to know how my new iPhone would hold up to my previous model (4s) as well as another popular smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S3.

I’m notorious for needing reminders to do everyday tasks. The one area of my life I have yet to fully get under control with task reminders though, is my e-mail. FollowUpThen has solved that problem for me. I first discovered it while surfing the internet a few months ago. I was intrigued by the fact that it was not only free, but was also simple to use.

The worlds only hope to stop and possibly refuse this mechanization is in finding the gods themselves for answers.

Product Review: Hasbro/Zynga’s Words with Friends

The game I wanted to try more than any of the others was Words with Friends because…well, let’s be honest! It’s just a spin on Scrabble, right? I’m not going to mince words here…and I’m not afraid to say it because Hasbro makes both games! When my family tried out Words with Friends this week, we really did set both games side by side and compared the two. Let me give you the “BLUF” (military speak for “Bottom Line Up Front”). BLUF: Words with Friends is a fun family board game that will make a great addition to your board game collection this holiday season. But I caveat this by saying that if you already own Scrabble, you’ll find that a board game version of Words with Friends is extremely similar and probably redundant for your collection.

Nerf Lazer Tag – GeekMom Tested. Bounty Hunter Approved

Hasbro has reinvented laser tag for the new generation; the apple generation that is. I first learned about the system earlier this year and it looked promising. I’m happy to say that the fleshed out product is just as much fun as it was originally advertised. Compatible with the iPhone (3GS and up) and iPod (4th generation and up), this new laser tag is a ton of fun for the entire family.
